Local Hero!

Congratulations to Ian Sloan who has been awarded the Belfast Telegraph Local Hero Award! This caps off a terrific year for the schoolboy who has been a top performer for his school, club and country over the last years.

Ian is currently in a preparation phase for the Olympic Qualifier in Dublin (March).

He played in two test internationals last week against medal hopefuls Great Britain. Ireland held the home team to two draws (1:1 and 2:2).

Another win for the ladies!

Neil “the horse” Barnes is still the fav after a win last week. Norwich have a tough away tie at WBA and Aston Villa (thomas and ricky’s pick) are at home to Everton.

Reds win Ulster Indoor

Cookstown Hockey Club competed indoor at the weekend in the Ulster Section of the National competition. Indoor hockey is making a resurgence in the Irish game and the locals have an array of talent suited to the six aside game.
