Cookstown Hockey Club

NON PLAYING FACILITIES

The Club purchased the town historic Railway station in 2003 and completed significant refurbishments to make it suitable for a clubhouse. The club house now boasts one main bar area, one lounge area and a function/dance area. The clubhouse also has a decked barbecue area for outdoor events, the outdoor area is a conversion of the old Railway platforms.

PLAYING FACILITIES

Pitch One | Desso Sand Filled Pitch (Completed September 1994)
The Clubs Sandfilled pitch was installed in 1994, it was constructed on land long term leased from the Southern Education and Library Board. The Pitch was built by a team of volunteers in the club, and is a testimony to the skills within the club. The pitch is in use from 10-10 five days a week and 9-6 on Saturdays. It was the first astroturf pitch to be laid on School grounds, and the first joint venture of its type.

Pitch Two | Astroturf Water Based Pitch (Completed November 2009)
The Clubs new Waterbase pitch was installed in the Summer/Autumn of 2009. A project that lasted nearly five years. The venture was financially assisted by Sport Northern Ireland and Cookstown District Council. The pitch itself is a FIH “Global” specified pitch, which makes it suitable for the highest standard of competition. In association with Acheson and Glover, the club has constructed a spectator area capable of hosting over 2000 people without restricted viewing.
